Meet the Owner

Jason Frye L.Ac.

I began studying Chinese Medicine in 1998 by learning Tai Chi, Qigong, Acupressure, and Tui Na. During this time I practiced Tai Chi and Qigong with Sifu Brian O'Dea, Simu Ou Yang Min,  and Master Zi Sheng Wang.  This was a special time and a personal healing  journey when I was able to practice 4-6 hours, or more, each day.  I learned a lot about energy healing, meditation, martial arts, and Asian philosophy during this time.  This lucky time period lead me to eventually attend The Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA.  After a 4 year Master's program and State Board Exam I became licensed to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2010.  I have continued study since graduating with a number of teachers: Dr. Ming Qing Zhu for Neuro-Acupuncture, Advanced Pulse Listening with Will Morris, and I continued my study with Brian O’Dea in Tai Qi, Qigong, Medicine, Philosophy, Humanity, etc.  From 2006-2012, I studied the Dao De Jing, Yi Jing, Chinese Astrology, Daoist and Buddhist practices, and the Chinese Almanac with Liu Ming.  In 2012, I was fortunate enough to find Lama Palden Drolma and Sukhasiddhi Foundation.  My wife and I took on the challenge of Ngondro practice and 3 years later took on the challenge of having a child.  My daughter, Amelie Rose is the greatest joy!  Presently, we read, garden, build, cook, eat, practice Tai Chi 5 Animal Exercises, learn, and grow together.  Sifu Brian O'Dea continues to be a few steps ahead of me at every turn and I continue to study with him.  His knowledge, experience, and ability is constant inspiration to learn more so that I can at some point be able to see some of what he sees.  I feel blessed to be asked to teach at the Acupressure Institute and at McKinnon Body Therapy Center from 2001 until 2015.  I also am happy to be teaching at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences since 2010 where I continue to grow as a practitioner and instructor. I am delighted to have a practice of Medicine to share and apply the things I have learned over the last 20+ years.  I hope you will go on a healing journey at Hilltop Family Acupuncture and receive great benefit from your treatments and the learning process here.
